Bring your attention to detail and reliability to our team as a Procurement Manager, responsible for managing procurement services and overseeing agency-wide fixed assets, along with other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance. This full-time, benefited position is budgeted for 2000 hours / 250 days per year, with a starting salary of $41,280.00. Open until filled.

Education & Experience:

AA degree with seven years experience in Purchasing or Cost Accounting, and office management or supervisory responsibilities. Bachelor's degree in Business (preferred) with three years experience in Purchasing or Cost Accounting, and office management or supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge of:

  • Principles of Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
  • Principles Inventory Control and Asset Management.
  • Principles of Accounting and Cost Accounting - preferred.
  • Principles of contract negotiations and supplier management.
  • Database development and management.
  • Principles of budget development and monitoring.
  • Business correspondence layout, business English, grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills.
  • Computer software programs, preferably Microsoft Office, Excel, Desktop Publishing and graphics, and word processing skills.
  • Federal and state laws, and Head Start / ECEAP Performance Standards as they apply to procuring and disposing of equipment and supplies; inventory control.

Ability to:

  • Exercise effective management of personnel, programs and resources.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, service, availability, reliability, and selection variety
  • Exercise excellent telephone, customer service and public relations skills.
  • Work cooperatively with staff members and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Prepare basic analysis, statistics, and narrative reports, business correspondence, and memoranda.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Use the team approach to resolving problems or conflicts.
  • Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills; receive information and feedback in an understanding manner; use good judgment.
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned.
  • Understand budget development and monitoring.
