Join our team as a Full Day Head Start Lead Teacher and support EOCF's mission by planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate early childhood education experience for children enrolled in Full Day Head Start. This is a benefited, professional-level position, classified as regular, full-time, and budgeted for 2000 hours/250 days per year with a starting salary range of $19.63 - 20.61

Minimum Education and Experience

Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development with 30 semester credits in ECE or a Child Development (CDA). One year of consistent paid experience with groups of children 3 to 5 years of age in an early childhood setting. One year of consistent paid supervisor experience is required. 

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field with 30 semester credits in ECE or a Child Development (CDA). One year of consistent paid experience with groups of children 3 to 5 years of age in an early childhood setting. One year of consistent paid supervisor experience is required.

* Training plan may be considered depending on qualifications.

* Bi-lingual highly desired.

Certifications and Other Requirements

Valid First Aid and CPR (including infant) cards.

Valid Food Handlers Card.

Valid Washington or Oregon State driver's license and proof of automobile insurance as mandated by Washington State law.

Ready access to personal, legally licensed motor vehicle.

Submit to a finger printing and criminal history background check.

Pass a pre-employment health screening indicating freedom from communicable diseases, and an annual health check-up indicating freedom from communicable disease.

Commit to EOCF's drug-free work place policy.

Knowledge of

Principals of child development and Early Childhood Curriculum planning.

Principals of effective supervision.

Current best practices in early childhood development and education.

Basic rules and principles of grammar, written and verbal communication, and mathematics.

Ability to

Observe and assess children and set individualized goals.

Prepare the classroom environment to meet the educational needs of each child.

Track each child's progress and incorporate the information into the curriculum.

Work cooperatively with staff members and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.    

Maintain confidentiality of records and information.

Use the team approach to resolving problems or conflicts.

Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills; receive information and feedback in an understanding manner; use good judgment.

Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned.

Prepare and manage records, reports and other documents as required.    

Work flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
