Join our team as an Early Head Start Classroom Aide by providing assistance to classroom staff in supporting a relationship-based, child-directed, and individualized early childhood experience for infants/toddlers. This benefited position is full-time budgeted for 1832 hours/229 days per year.

REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred Education and Experience - High School Diploma or equivalent required. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) for children birth to 36 months of age (an Infant/Toddler credential) or equivalent of 12 quarters of ECE coursework. One year paid or professional volunteer experience working with children birth to 36 months of age in a child care program setting. Bi-lingual highly desired.

Required Education and Experience - High School Diploma or equivalent required. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) for children birth to 36 months of age, or currently enrolled in a CDA program that will be completed within two (2) years or equivalent of 12 quarters of ECE coursework. One year paid or professional volunteer experience working with children birth to 36 months of age in a child care program setting.  OR - High school diploma or equivalent. Three years consistent paid or professional volunteer experience working with groups of children 0-36 months in a childcare program setting. Employees meeting this minimum requirement will be required to enroll in a CDA credential program to meet the required education stated above.

Bi-lingual highly desired.

Training plan may be considered depending on qualifications.

Knowledge of
1. Current and developmentally appropriate best
practices for children age 0-3.
2. Health and safety issues for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families.
3. Basic rules and principles of grammar, written and verbal communication, and mathematics.

Ability to
1. Establish consistent, stable and supportive relationships with infants/toddlers or preschoolers and their families.
2. Embrace role of parent as the primary educator and nurturer in their child's life.
3. Adopt EOCF's commitment to supporting and strengthening staff members and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
4. Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
5. Use the team approach to resolve problems and conflicts.
6. Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills, receive information and feedback in an understanding manner, and use good judgment.
7. Work flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
8. Be flexible in working at EHS/HS sites that most need your assistance for coverage.
9. Attend appropriate staff meetings and out-of-town training sessions as assigned.
